Simple Ways to Spruce Up the Bathroom — part 1.

The bathroom: it’s one of those rooms we often take for granted. Typically, it takes us a while to decide that the bathroom could use a makeover, but when we finally figure it out, we’re often surprised that we didn’t think of it before. Sometimes, we recognize the need for a new look, but are hesitant to do it because we worry it will cost to much. If you do a complete overhaul, then that may be true. However, if you just want to spruce up that rarely talked about room where we spend so much of our time, you can do so quite easily — not to mention affordably!
The first thing you can do doesn’t really cost anything and it won’t take up much of your time, but the difference is huge. Just organize what you have. Go through the medicine cabinets, the cabinets under the sink, any linen closets, et cetera. Throw away the half empty shampoo and conditioner bottles — or mix similar brands/smells together. I’m loathe to throw that kind of stuff away as well, it seems like such a waste! The same goes for bottles of lotion and bottle wash, and other such things. If you plan to get some new towels, washcloths, shower curtains, and so on, then go through the ones you have. Keep the ones which are still in good shape, but maybe you can delegate all those holey ones to the rag bag and use them for household cleaning.
Finally, run down to the dollar store and buy some baskets and things. That way, you can organize cosmetics, toiletries, and all of that stuff. You can either artfully arrange them around the bathroom, or stow them neatly away in the linen closet so you don’t have so much clutter.
